GM, we hope you weren’t shaken out yesterday after Japan’s Nikkei index moved down a lot causing a real panic globally (and other reasons, and at all who understands anything).

Today things look much brighter, however, there are still a few twists and turns that could hit our crypto holdings hard. For example, the tension in the Middle East, manipulation & bull trap (innit?), and other unstable markets in the East. However, the sentiment in the crypto community remains bullish so without further ado, let’s dive deeper.

• Donald Trump has appeared on the Kick stream by Adin Ross where cryptocurrency topics were also discussed. Rumours say that the son of Trump, Barron convinced him to join the livestream.

• Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Gov. Walz as a potential VP. His stance towards crypto is still not totally clear, but he is for more strict regulations, and looks like his stance isn’t the most positive news for us.

• Indexes open in green after the bloodbath yesterday.

• The US government will launch a $50B bonds buyback program in August.

• USDC Treasury mints $250M on Solana according to PANews. Quite bullish, huh?

• Starknet Foundation CEO, Diego Oliva steps down. James Strudwick takes the wheel.

• Nvidia CEO sold $323M in shares in July, just before the decline.

• Ronin Network has been hacked for 399 ETH (around $10M). Ronin Bridge was also hacked for $600M before, back in 2022 March, and Axie/Ronin co-founder was hacked for $9.7M in February 2024.

🦁 Alpha & Opportunities

• Duper raised $8.9M to build its on-chain game which is a mix of poker and Catan.

• The Arena app continues to expand. There is still some time to join and start earning points.

📈 Other Metrics & Numbers

• Inflows into Ethereum ETFs on August 5th: $48M. Trading volume: $715M.

• Spot Bitcoin ETF trading volume yesterday: $5B. Outflows from Bitcoin ETFs on August 5th: -$168M.

• Around $1B was liquidated in the derivatives market on Aug 5th.

• Bitcoin Open Interest (OI) dropped to $14.18B (on Aug 6th) from $16.74B (on Aug 4th).

• Berkshire Hathaway currently owns $234.6 billion of U.S. Treasury bills while the Federal Reserve has just $195.3 billion.
